Ravenclaw was founded by Rowena Ravenclaw and corresponds to the wind element among the four elements. The symbolic animal is the eagle, and the representative colors are blue and bronze. Luna Lovegood, Cho Chang, Sybill Trelawney, Filius Flitwick, and other outstanding wizards all graduated here. When selecting students, Ravenclaw tends to choose those who are talented and love learning, especially in terms of academics. Therefore, Ravenclaw is characterized by strong competitiveness.

What is true though, is that it produced an exceptional number of great individuals who had a considerable impact on the wizarding world. The soaring eagle serves as a metaphor for Ravenclaw students, who have an intense love of learning and a never-ending curiosity that drives their pursuit of knowledge. They are inherently creative, and their inventive minds love to venture into intellectually unexplored territory. Their compass, wisdom, leads them through the maze-like world's complexity and beyond. Being unique is not only accepted but also valued among Ravenclaws, as they each contribute a distinct viewpoint to the group's intellectual fabric. Luna Lovegood embodies this house with her creative thinking and unique perspective on life.

Hufflepuffs are just the most humble of all the houses and don’t feel the need to shout about their achievements in the same way as the others.

Perhaps it will be a noble Gryffindor, an ambitious Slytherin, a creative Ravenclaw, or a fair Hufflepuff? According to Pottermore, Salazar was very skilled at Legilimency (reading minds) and was also the first recorded parselmouth (can talk to snakes). Emma Watson (aka Hermione) has never taken a test but many fans believe that she would be in Ravenclaw. This is based on her attending and getting a degree from Brown University. In a video on his Youtube channel, Stephen Colbert revealed that JK Rowling messaged him and told him that he belongs in Ravenclaw.

While saying that, not every student in Slytherin should be considered evil. This latest collection features six different unisex T-shirts. Other magic-related elements from the Harry Potter world, like wands, spells, and the iconic sorting hat, complete the collection.

At the time, Rowena’s mother was ill with a fatal disease and could not bear the news of her daughter’s death. She died through a broken heart, and so their story ended. Just as we looked at Godric’s biography, we will also devote time to Salazar.

And with a sturdy structure rather than a paper-thin crust, Detroit style pies can support more toppings. Amidst all the fast-casual chains and overpriced tourist traps around Union Square, Del Popolo is a bright spot. There are nine options to choose from, but whichever route you go, the toppings, like spicy sausage and olives or garlicky mushrooms, are excellent across the board. We love coming to this relaxed spot for double dates or after-work pizzas at the bar—or, if you want a quieter dinner, request a table on the plant-filled patio out back. You’ve got a handful of solid pizza options in Hayes Valley including Doppio Zero’s floppy Neapolitan-style pies and Paxti’s deep-dish specimens. But Gioia Pizzeria does New York-style pizza with California fresh ingredients, which makes it perhaps your best option for takeout, popping in for a slice, or splitting a pie for a casual dinner.

That’s probably because it’s one of the best pizza options the city has to offer, with nicely charred and puffy crusts plus delicious seasonal toppings. Classics like a margherita will always win hearts and minds, while the salsiccia with housemade fennel sausage, tomato, bell peppers, onions, and mozzarella is also a popular order. We love fermented dough like the city loves ultra-light down, which is why we come back for PizzaHacker’s sourdough pizzas at least once a month. The gorgeously charred, slightly tangy crusts nail the stretch factor—chewy on the inside and a crisp exterior. Don’t overlook the specials written on the chalkboard wall, like the Forbidden Fruit. It’s essentially a Hawaiian pizza with jalapeños and red onions that will please even the most stubborn pineapple-on-pizza haters.

Pizza and beer are an ideal combo, whether you’re pregaming or just craving tomato sauce and a pilsner on a random Tuesday. Luckily, Cellarmaker House of Pizza in Bernal Heights has a lengthy list of beers on tap to enjoy over Detroit-style slices. The deceptively small square pizzas are sponge-like with crunchy cheese crusts and slightly chunky tomato sauce on top.

The wait times can be long, but the cute 12-inch pies, like the white pie with rosemary and fiore sardo, are great. In her definitive guide to the style, Houck follows its origins to Buddy’s, a bar and restaurant which produced the original Detroit pizza in 1946. 2) In addition, each participant must also bring at least three toppings (don’t be lame) they’d like to try on a slice of pizza. Could be bacon, could be seafood, could be the weirdest veggie in the supermarket… go for it. “Obviously we’re in California, so we’re using everything we have in California,” says the chef, who tops his pies with local toma, “the king of cheeses,” rather than the typical Detroit-style Wisconsin brick cheese.

Devouring it all in the company of E-40 bobbleheads and Giants foam fingers is an easy way to spend a quick lunch or an after-work snack and beer. Grab a seat at one of the big tables, gaze lovingly at your face-sized slice, and pat yourself on the back for making the great decision to come here. There aren’t many places in the city specializing in pinsas, so novelty alone is one reason to head to Montesacro in SoMa (there's a second location in the Marina). The crust is charred, bubbly, and light, making it entirely doable to have several pieces without sweating it out on the couch later.

For a food menu in keeping with the spirit of Cellarmaker’s playful beer, executive chef Michael Malyniwsky developed a recipe for Detroit-style pizza, a fluffy, square pie with crisp, caramelized cheese edges. And while it might offend a small number of Detroit pizza purists, Malyniwsky is taking his cues from the Bay Area, not Michigan. After purchasing a set of Detroit-style pans, the Sius opened Pizza Squared last year, offering both Sicilian and Detroit-style pizzas. Slices of Detroit-style pepperoni are by far the restaurant’s best seller, says Siu.

When you’re dead set on eating some carbohydrates and sauce, let this guide be your roadmap. Cellarmaker’s team tweaked the layout and seating at 3193 Mission Street (with room for 49) and improved aspects of the space like the sound system. They also upgraded the four-barrel brew system, which is smaller than Cellarmaker’s original 10-barrel system at 1150 Howard Street. Aaron Wittman will be head brewer at the new location — he started in on his first batch of beer this week — and Jeffrey Fisher is the new location’s general manager. “For as big and scary it looks, it’s pretty approachable, even on a Tuesday night after yoga class,” says Stoller. In the Bay Area market, where half the population attends Tuesday night yoga, that’s certainly appealing.

Between National Pizza Day on Feb. 9 and Super Bowl Sunday this weekend, it’s a perfect time to sit back with a slice or two or an entire pie from your favorite pizza joint. New, compelling pizza restaurants open with amazing frequency these days. For this guide to 21 favorites I’ve included a couple of places that launched early in 2023 and quickly established their baseline excellence. Most have been around for at least a few years, including several darlings of the scene that began as pandemic-era startups and found lasting audiences. Collectively, the range of delicious possibilities gleaned from the template of crust, sauce and cheese is astounding. Indian pizza is a Bay Area staple (and perhaps, a local invention) so it makes sense there are a handful of wonderful examples to be enjoyed, including at Zante Pizza in the Mission District and Golden Gate in the Outer Sunset.

Start with the burrata, which comes with crostini and a nice lemony arugula salad, before making your way to the pizza list. They make everything from margherita to pepperoni and arugula to a funghi pizza loaded with mushrooms and fresh thyme. The crust is perfectly charred, has a good snap if you fold it, and we can bet you and your friends will be fighting over the last slices of Zoe with mini pepperoni, or the sausage pizza that’s heavy on the fennel. An extra plus, this place has beer (bottle and draft) and tons of wine—basically everything you need to create a casual pizza-centric night. Despite looking like dense bricks, the Detroit-style pies at Joyride Pizza have an airy crust that avoids a soggy fate under a mountain of toppings. Pies are covered with what feels like an entire garden’s worth of vegetables like brussels sprouts, tomatoes, or arugula, or have thick stripes of tomato sauce running across the top.

We love the maranella, which comes with spicy pork sausage, broccolini, and some of the creamiest burrata we’ve ever had. Also consider ordering the tormarancio that has thinly sliced soppressata and very thick tomato sauce. This city loves great Cal-Ital, so we welcome Norcina—and their pillowy, charred, and chewy crust.

In San Francisco — where round, thin-crust Neapolitan pizza has long been the gold standard — it’s suddenly hip to be square. Head to the Dogpatch and you’ll spot plenty of white boxes making their way down 3rd Street or hanging out with a pint at Dogpatch Saloon. And you can taste the tang of the sourdough, separate from the high quality toppings.

On the nose, it offers aromas of ripe strawberries, cherries, and red currants, with a hint of citrus zest. The palate is bright and lively, with flavors of watermelon, cranberry, and pomegranate, balanced by a refreshing acidity and subtle minerality. The tannins are soft and well-integrated, giving the wine a silky texture and a long, satisfying finish. Hayes is a native New Yorker who emerged from the great halls of academia with a useless Philosophy degree and a useful passion for fine beverages.

Take-Out/Delivery Options

Next time your friend’s roommate who used to live down the street from Joe’s starts complaining about the lack of New York-style slice spots in SF, point them in the direction of Gioia in Hayes Valley. Their massive, thin-crust slices are meant to be folded (the directive is outlined on the box), and are best eaten while standing on the curb and debating whether or not you’d be able to survive an actual winter. Toppings stay pretty classic—think pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom—and you can (and should) dress up slices with ranch or chili oil. This Glen Park pizzeria churns out the crispiest thin-crust pies in the city. Bite into one and a near ear-splitting crunch will probably be detected all the way in the Presidio.

At this location:

But newcomer Mr. Singh’s takes a sport bar-esque approach, which makes this a smart place to explore the menu of more than two dozen Indian pizzas with a cup of $2 chai. Try the flavorful chicken tikka masala and butter chicken pies, both of which can be ordered on a gluten-free cauliflower crust. When Ryan and Christina Siu found a space in Mission Bay for their quick-service pizza restaurant, Pizza Squared, they wondered how they could stand out in the pizza saturated Bay Area market. Bake for five minutes, rotate your pie, and bake for another five… or until your crust turns golden brown and the cheese looks toasty and melted. If you’re feeling intimidated by all this talk of high cuisine, don’t be. California style pizza is pretty much a New York slice topped with whatever the hell you feel like throwing on it.

Like never bothering to cross the bay to Alcatraz, standing in line for Golden Boy is a local rite of passage. As is ordering one of their fluffy Sicilian focaccia squares with a crispy bottom. This North Beach institution (est. 1978) with its iconic red neon finger sign makes some of the thickest and cheapest slices in town, starting at $3.50. There are also only six kinds on the menu, but we zero in on the pepperoni or the meaty combo with sausage. Inside, punk music blares, the walls are covered with stickers, plenty of beers flow from the tap. Craig and Annie Stoll’s Delfina spinoff, Pizzeria Delfina, is an empire, with multiple locations across San Francisco, Burlingame, and Palo Alto.

Pizza and beer are an ideal combo, especially when we're craving tomato sauce and a pilsner on a Tuesday night. Lucky for us, Cellarmaker House of Pizza in Bernal Heights has a lengthy list of beers on tap and excellent Detroit-style pies, also available by the slice. The square pizzas are deceptively small, with crunchy cheese walls and slightly chunky tomato sauce on top. Get any pizza involving pepperoni—their version is something we crave for midday snacks. The casual spot has bar seating, a few high-tops perfect for small groups, and a parklet out front.

A silky mouthfeel and bright acidity contribute to a refreshing and balanced finish. In a first for Cellarmaker, whose SoMa brewery serves only its own beers by law, there’s room for guest beers at Cellarmaker House of Pizza, which operates under a different liquor license. Current visitors are Sante Adairius (Capitola), Alvarado Street (Monterey), and Highland Park Brewery (LA). In the future, says Casey, expect hard-to-find beers from Cellarmaker’s friends from out of state. I went out of my way enroute to the airport to try this pizza with all the fixins.

Crispy outer cheese walls caramelized to deep golden-brown and slightly sweet house tomato sauce we’d gladly funnel into our mouths are other reasons to love these pies. They have other locations in the city, but we like the Yerba Buena spot, which has a patio overlooking the gardens. Goat Hill Pizza in Potrero Hill has been around since 1975, and here’s why—the brick oven-fired pizzas have thin sourdough crusts that are so good we practically hear angels sing when we eat one. That, and the fact that the red-checkered tablecloths and goat drawings and statues make us feel like we’re at a quirky relative’s house for Sunday night dinner. We usually go for the Porky Pie with bacon and red onion, plus enough roasted garlic and garlic cream to single handedly keep the breath mint industry in business.

And the presentation of pepperoni cups and other toppings like garlic ricotta cream and hot honey is a work of art. Square Pie Guys is also very casual, which is why you’ll find chicken wings, salads, and fries, and a well-oiled takeout operation. We’ve eaten a concerning number of slices and pies to bring you our guide to the very best pizza San Francisco has to offer. And there is a lot to offer, despite what the bitter New York transplants in your life have to say about us and our pizza. This guide includes wood-fired Neapolitan pies, Detroit-style bricks, and enough sourdough pizzas to feed 10 wolf packs, a hungry soccer team, or both.

Like any great neighborhood spot, this is a place to post up in one of the three dining rooms and gab about how today was the best or worst day ever. The crispy-edged, rectangular pizzas from these Detroit-style pie specialists have always been prepared with takeout or delivery in mind, making them perfect for a lazy dinner on comfy nights in. Order online for both takeout and in-house delivery or head to the flagship location at Ghirardelli Square for a full-service meal with bay views. This SoMa pizza place opened in July 2022 with tiki cocktails, Detroit-style pies, plus thin and crispy grandma pizzas. Owners Lane Ford and Alvin Luna brought in Delarosa and Beretta alum Pedro Gonzalaz to craft the dough; pizza toppings include esoteric options like Spam and corned beef. Perhaps the most quintessentially Bay Area pizza place on this list, worker-owned cooperative Arizmendi serves a different pizza every day.

Coming here to sit in the always bustling bar and dining room or patio ensures we have a pick of a variety of doughs, shapes, and toppings. Puffs of hot air escape the charred bubbles when you take a bite, and the crust is thin yet sturdy enough to avoid sogginess. And toppings like prosciutto with a runny egg or curled-up pepperoni are simple but flawlessly balanced—each pizza can easily feed two people, but you should order a couple for the table to try the different combinations. House ranch (extra dill-y) is on hand for dipping, as are cocktails, wine, and salads made up of 50% parmesan.

Whenever we come here, we go for the amatriciana with pancetta and a runny egg on top, and the mushroom pie with caramelized onions, truffled fontina, and preserved lemon. No meal is complete without the decadent Nutella dessert pizza topped with squiggles of mascarpone. The relaxed spot can easily function as a weeknight double date destination and a place we'd take a youth soccer team to carbo-load after a game. The lowkey Richmond spot earns the title based on evenly golden-brown crust alone. What goes on the pies depends on what’s in season, and rotates every other week. So expect super fresh ingredient combinations like gooey eggs and asparagus or braised short rib with garlic confit.

The pies serve one, but the ideal way to eat here is to come with a date or a few friends and split as many as will fit on the table (which could mean ordering all six pizzas). And save room for dessert—the dense flourless chocolate cake is a neighborhood gem, as is anything with their brown butter shortbread. For something even less traditional, there’s a white pizza ($22) with mozzarella, toma, pecorino tartufo, red onion, hen of the woods mushroom, confit garlic, and black truffle. Gialina is a family-friendly Glen Park restaurant with an excellent menu of starters and roasts, but it’s the pizza that inspires a daily line there and at its NoPa sister spot Ragazza.

While 54% of baby boomer homeowners own their homes free and clear, according to Redfin, most of those with mortgages have low rates. So it doesn't make much sense to take out a new mortgage, with rates now around 7%. Baby boomer empty nesters own twice as many of the country's three-bedroom-or-larger homes, compared with millennials with kids, according to a recent analysis from Redfin.

Within three years, most nursing homes will need to provide daily RN care of at least 0.55 hours per resident and 2.45 hours from aides. Starting in two years, most homes must provide an average of at least 3.48 hours of daily care per resident. About 6 in 10 nursing homes are already operating at that level, a KFF analysis found. There are other policy changes that could make it easier to build housing for different life stages and thereby entice boomers to downsize. But longtime California homeowners who've seen their property values skyrocket would likely require a different approach, Schuetz says. There, Proposition 13 strictly limits increases in property taxes – so that many longtime homeowners pay taxes on a small fraction of their home's value.

The consultants CMS hired in preparing its new rules did not incorporate the earlier findings in their evaluation of options. CMS also mandated that within two years an RN must be on duty at all times in case of a patient crisis on weekends or overnight. Currently, CMS requires at least eight consecutive hours of RN presence each day and a licensed nurse of any level on duty around the clock.

That created its own lock-in effect, though a recent rule change allows those over age 55 to keep their lower tax rate if they buy and move into a home of equal or lesser value. For instance, a lower-income homeowner of a deteriorating row house might be willing to a swap for a newer, smaller apartment in an elevator building, if there was a program for that. Smaller homes can cost more if they're newer, or are part of a community that provides extra services. Some metro areas have few one-story homes, making them hot commodities.

When Dennis Allen started Allen Construction more than three decades ago, he was adamant about combining excellent construction quality with green building. Their outstanding work quality and eco-consciousness have given them a reputation for being one of Los Angeles’s most valued green home builders. The company’s principles and its projects have also been featured in articles such as California Home+Design, Seasons Magazine, and Los Angeles Times. When he said there’s no resale inventory, he’s referring to the lack of existing homes for sale. The reason is that mortgage rates shot up from prior levels, triggering the so-called lock-in effect.

These programs, offering grants or loans, have diverse eligibility requirements specifically designed for retirees. If you mean "home" as in "domicile" (or a fairly permanent residence) a fairly common version is made by bringing your fingers and thumb together and touching your cheek near the side of your mouth. Then move your hand an inch or two toward your ear and touch your cheek again. Again, each child develops at a different pace; however, phonological processing and timeline frames are consistent regardless of the modalities -- visual-spatial and aural-vocal languages. When the preschooler became conscious of the arc motion, not tapping on the cheek, the child pronounced the movement erroneously (proximalization). The movement evolved from tapping twice, to the arc motion in an incorrect way, then to the arc movement in the correct way.

In a nutshell, we argue that ASL loci have all three uses, and thus provide an argument in favor of the existence of such an abstract system.

Community mourns tragic collision that killed Pleasanton family CBS San Francisco

road house 2024

It’s a surreal thing to visit that movie again, bringing the generally hideous 1980s mainstream cinematic experience back with a rush. And then there’s Conor McGregor as Knox, a sociopath who launches like he was shot out of a cannon into the back half of the movie to finish the job with Dalton. Knox brings a spark to a movie that's getting dry, but McGregor’s performance is equally fascinating and baffling, delivered almost entirely through a massive grin like he’s doing a bit at a weigh-in before a match. He struts and smiles like an aggro Popeye, and it feels like Liman told him to go over the top and so McGregor shot to the moon. There are times when his awkward line readings sound abjectly wrong, but maybe that’s intentional? It’s a constant push-and-pull of whether or not McGregor is purposefully awkward because Knox is a sociopath or if the fighter just doesn’t yet know how to put words together on screen.

A stairwell at Cartoon Network Studios captured 20 years of history. Now you can see it, too

BALTIMORE - A house explosion rattled a community Saturday night in Essex. The Lovell Road home - even its worsened state - has continued to be a source of inspiration for Knoxville's daydreamers and history buffs. Reddit user lovinlemon commented on a post about the house, reminiscing about the house where they grew up nearby. In 2016, the house was bought from the Astlings by Lovell Place at Cornerstone Dr., L.L.C. While not much is available about the company online, some interested in the property have speculated on the company's plans for it.

Seller and real estate developer Craig Robbins called Hadid's design contribution "the nicest thing that probably any friend has ever done for me." The Road House bar may be pretty small-time – in fact, some of the film’s enjoyment derives from just how small-town and petty this world is – but the fight sequences are operating on a big, bold, reality-stretching canvas. Big as in crocodile fights big, full cast bar-brawl big, knockout death match between Dalton and McGregor’s cocky (and occasionally bare-assed) hitman big. And the old 1989 Road House has a special place in the action film pantheon, because it’s so delightfully god-awful it takes on a kind of Mystery Science Theater 3000 delirium.

Nightcrawler

With its no-holds-barred choreographed fight scenes and the raw sex appeal of its lead, Patrick Swayze, the original 1989 film has become something of a cult classic, despite its shortcomings. 2024's Road House sees a buff Gyllenhaal take on the role of bouncer Dalton, who this time is an ex-UFC fighter with friendly smile that hides some inner turmoil. It becomes clear Dalton has his demons as an early scene sees him park his rundown car in the middle of a railroad crossing, only to change his mind about ending his own life at the last second. It's a scene totally out of step with the rest of the film, which never takes itself too seriously. There's a man-eating crocodile, a baseball bat carrying teenage girl, and one scene where after beating up a gang of five, Dalton himself drives them all to the hospital.

The next available image after 2007 is from 2011, and by then, the exterior of the house was visibly dilapidated, suggesting that the Astlings might not have been living at the residence full-time. Abram Galbraith graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1918 with a degree in engineering and went on to build the house for himself and his wife, Nadine Moore Galbraith, his grandson Kent Galbraith told Knox News. The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with an outbuilding that was added in 1950. The abandoned yet beautiful house on Lovell Road has intrigued passersby for years, but the brick and stone structure has now suffered further damage from a fire.

Questions swirl over the future of TikTok. Who could own it? How will the platform operate?

"There's people that burn a fire and little fire pits, maybe something caught on fire, but not an entire house," said neighbor Logan Lambert. A neighbor shared security video of the scene which showed the explosion and fire. In 2022, the Division of Water Resources at the Knoxville Environmental Field Office prepared a hydrologic features report for the company regarding the property. The earliest Google Maps Street View image of the house is from September 2007, and shows a white van and a small box truck parked outside. Due to blur, it's not clear if the house had begun to deteriorate by then.

But that’s the weird thing — Jake Gyllenhaal turns out to be a not-bad substitute at the same game. His high Howdy Doody voice and weird Muppet smile and big, blank-eyed, mild-mannered air conveys well the singular effect of a walking lethal weapon who wants above all not to fight. Some movies that were major releases then were so literally ugly, so incompetently made, so grotesquely stupid, so ideologically heinous, they become things of sordid wonder and hilarity when seen afresh.

road house 2024

When ex-UFC fighter Dalton (Jake Gyllenhaal) is offered a job as head bouncer at the ROAD HOUSE, he has his work cut out ridding the bar of a violent gang who routinely come in and cause trouble. As Dalton sets about restoring order, he discovers that there might be more to these attacks than first appears. “Part of what makes this really fun to watch is that it doesn't take itself seriously, really at all, and it always lilts on the edge of, like, absurd,” says Jake Gyllenhaal, who leads the action-packed reimagining of the 1989 movie.

Even at the very end, there’s an inventive finale to the last fight scene that I can’t describe because it’s too much of a spoiler, but it’s startlingly well done. Turns out I only got the answer at the end — it’s a movie directed by Doug Liman, an erratic talent who nevertheless has given action fans two genuinely great examples of the genre, The Bourne Identity (2002) and Edge of Tomorrow (2014). No idea how I managed to miss that crucial piece of information ahead of viewing. When we find Dalton in this version, he’s living his worst life as a kind of scammer on the underground fighting circuit, showing up in an anonymous hoodie as an apparent nobody challenging the current hotshot taking on all comers. As soon as he removes the hood, he’s recognized as the Dalton, slumming, and the hotshot refuses to fight, thus reversing the betting in a way that benefits the house. He skims off a bit of the profits and goes on laying low in a dreary self-hating way, living in his car.

'Road House' revisited: How Jake Gyllenhaal remake compares to Patrick Swayze cult classic - USA TODAY

'Road House' revisited: How Jake Gyllenhaal remake compares to Patrick Swayze cult classic.

Posted: Thu, 21 Mar 2024 07:00:00 GMT [source]

While that may sound harsh, some of the Looney Tunes-esque qualities of this reimagining of the 1989 Patrick Swayze classic work in its favor. Especially in the first hour, when director Doug Liman and Anthony Bagarozzi & Charles Mondry are setting the table for what’s to come, there’s a fun B-movie throwback aesthetic to “Road House” that clicks for long stretches. However, once this defiantly goofy movie starts to take itself seriously, and asks us too often to do the same, the wheels come off with ridiculous twists, awkward line readings, and some of the worst fight CGI in years. Through it all, Jake Gyllenhaal delivers a fun performance that goes from charming to menacing, but even that gets lost in the chaos of a movie that needed to be sweaty, grounded, and urgent to work but becomes more and more like something you’d watch on Saturday morning.

But whenever “Road House” has to go “extended fight sequence,” you can see ALL the strings. Of course, “Road House” isn’t just about a bouncer at a bar in the Florida Keys. It turns out there’s a lot more to the violence in Frankie’s bar than the local drunks. A real estate power player named Ben Brandt (Billy Magnussen), who inherited an empire from a criminal father, is trying to get Frankie to shut the operation down. Dalton comes in and takes care of Ben’s lackies in a series of scenes that are pretty well-choreographed and conceived. They also set Dalton’s character as the kind of guy who drives his enemies to the hospital after he beats them up.

“I do believe that there exists a group of people who can work together as adults and as investors to create a really great property. Sometimes you have to get creative,” said Peters, who has explored ways to update the Wright-designed Norman Lykes House. She says she’s looked into having an exclusive documentary made about Wright with Volumedia and offered to work as a project manager for owners looking to use the property as an “experience” rental. In the remake, Gyllenhaal’s character, named Dalton, meets a roadhouse bar owner, played by Jessica Williams (“The Daily Show” and “Shrinking”), who needs a bouncer to protect her Florida Keys haunt from thugs who bring in a character played by real-life mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor.
